Planning to display an operational spa or hot tub at a temporary event? Businesses are required to obtain an inspection and permit from the Wake County Environmental Health & Safety Division.
Important Details
- A permit is required for each spa or hot tub to be filled with water.
- The fee for each permit is $75.
- Applications and fees must be submitted at least 15 calendar days before the event for consideration.
Inspection Checklist
- Spa water at least 3.0ppm chlorine or 4.0ppm bromine [rule .2545(d)]
- Spa water pH 7.0 – 7.8 [rule .2545 (e)]
- Signs available as required [rule .2545 (4-5)]
- Written records available [rule .2545(6)]
- Adequate chemical storage [rule .2545 (7)]
- Latch/Lock cover available for spa when not in use [rule .2545(8)]
