Wake County Office Building Mezzanine Renovations

Project Summary

In 2011, a Building Master Reuse Study was completed for the Wake County Office Building. The study established a long term, 20-year Master Plan for how each floor would ultimately be occupied or “restacked.” In addition, it identified building code and ADA deficiencies that would need to be addressed in these future renovation projects.

The Wake County Office Building Mezzanine Renovations will be the fifth major renovation in the re-stack of the Office Building. This project will re-program and fully renovate the Information Services mezzanine spaces to serve a more modern work force. The renovations will include dedicated offices, workstations, conference space, collaboration spaces, and drop-in and training areas. In addition, new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and sprinkler services, and ADA compliant restrooms are part of the planned scope.

Construction began in February 2023 and should be completed by November 2023.
