The Future Innovators Symposium is an exciting event designed to connect high school students in the Wake County Public School System with opportunities in STEM, focusing on careers in renewable energy and sustainability. Organizers are actively seeking local industry leaders to join the mission and help inform and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.

Industry leaders will facilitate breakout activities related to STEM, energy or sustainability and represent their organizations at the career and internship fair. Their participation will allow them to introduce students to careers in their industries and engage with them before they make key decisions about their futures.

Students will take part in interactive breakout sessions and a career and internship fair, where they will learn about STEM careers, explore the educational pathways required and discover potential career opportunities after graduation.

The symposium will take place on March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Fuquay-Varina Training Center, located at 109 N. Ennis St., Fuquay-Varina. Hosted by industry experts and educators from local universities, this event offers a chance to directly impact students by sharing knowledge, experience and passion for STEM.

Students interested in attending must sign up through their school’s career development coordinators, career academy coordinators or career and technical education teachers.
