Kinship in Action Support Group

Kinship In Action (KIA) is a support group for individuals who are caring for relative children as their own.

Through self-help, individuals who are providing care for relative children can come together to share feelings, experiences, resources and draw strength and comfort from one another.

Kinship Family

Family Support Services and KIA may be able to assist you if you answer yes to one or more of the following:

  • You have concerns about a child under the age of 18 years old in your household.
  • You are a relative caregiver.
  • You are having difficulty meeting your household expenses.
  • You are ready to take charge of your life to preserve your family.
  • You are interested in learning new skills and/or getting formal education.
  • You are concerned about your child's behavior and/or school performance.
  • You are concerned about health issues.
  • You are having difficulty getting a job.
  • You need additional help or support to achieve your goals.

Virtual Meetings

This group meets virtually on the third Wednesday of each month at 6 - 7:15p.m. during the months of August through May.
