Purpose

Wake County Public Libraries’ Bookmobile aims to increase library awareness, access and use for the residents of Wake County. It serves to nurture and cultivate early literacy skills in young children, fostering a lifelong love for reading and learning from an early age.

Goals

  • To instill the love of reading and foster an appreciation of books and libraries in areas that would benefit from the additional Bookmobile resource.
  • To connect young children and their caregivers to additional programs and services at their local library.

Service Priorities

WCPL’s Bookmobile works with partner organizations and community agencies to identify site locations and community events for service.

Service Priorities

  • Site(s) that are open and accessible to the general public
  • Local agencies and partner organizations that serve young children in Wake County
  • Communities that have been identified as vulnerable on the Wake County Vulnerability Map
