Guiding Youth with Research-Based Support
Program Overview:
Welcome to 4-H SPACES and SPACESTOO, two empowering youth development programs designed to cultivate essential life skills. Both programs utilize research-based curricula and receive funding from the Wake County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council through the N.C. Department of Public Safety and Wake County Government.
Common Program Features:
- Monthly Thematic Units: Both SPACES and SPACESTOO offer a variety of thematic units, covering self-discovery, self-empowerment, healthy lifestyle choices, positive community involvement, leadership, goal setting, conflict resolution, accepting differences, career development, and health and wellness.
- Transportation Provided: Ensuring accessibility for participants in Wake County.
- Prevention and Intervention: A shared commitment to reducing the likelihood of youth involvement in the criminal justice system.
- Grant-Funded: Both programs are grant-funded, emphasizing personal success and minimizing the risk of criminal justice system involvement.

Age Focus:
SPACES (Ages 12-16): Tailored for youth aged 12-16, SPACES addresses the critical transitional period from adolescence to young adulthood.
SPACESTOO (Ages 16-18): Geared towards individuals aged 16-18, SPACESTOO places a specific emphasis on job readiness and career development, preparing older youth for the next stages of their lives.

Parents/guardians play a crucial role in the success of both programs. They are encouraged to participate in program orientation, maintain open communication with program staff, and complete necessary documentation to ensure the prosperity of their child.
