Are you an elderly, disabled or low-income homeowner? Does your well and/or septic system need repairs, but you just can’t afford the costs? The Wake County Environmental Services department and Housing Affordability & Community Revitalization department are partnering on a new, two-year pilot program using $200,000 in funding to help eligible homeowners address problems with their well or septic systems.
Our Wake County Housing team already has programs to help with critical household repairs, such as roof repairs or fixing heating systems. One program offers up to $5,000 for emergency repairs and another offers up to $20,000 in funding for home repairs for the elderly or disabled.
Through this pilot program, Wake County provides additional money for these grant programs and helps qualified applicants with repairs that exceed these caps. With this additional funding, qualified applicants will have more opportunities to have their well or septic systems repaired or to have their well water tested.
