Group programs are requested and scheduled for particular school or user groups. You can learn more about the types of group programs and field trips offered by Lake Crabtree County Park below.

Group Programs

Lake Crabtree offers a wide variety of environmental education programs for public and private schools, scouts, birthday parties and other organized groups. Programs are available either at the park or off-site. All programs are specific to the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Please allow at least one month advance notice to schedule a program for your group.

Call 919-460-2723 or email for more information or to request a program date. You can begin the reservation process by choosing a topic from our LCCP Group Programs. If you have questions about a program topic that is not listed, please ask our staff – we will do our best to accommodate your group.

Group size per staff member will generally be limited to 15–30 depending on the program requested and age of the participants. Programs for pre-K groups are available to groups of 15 or fewer.

School Programs

If you are a classroom teacher, Lake Crabtree has developed an LCCP Educator's Guide to facilitate choosing a program for your class either at your school or at the park. The guide has information about Lake Crabtree County Park and links to our Group Program list. This list recommends programs by grade level as well as outlining what essential science standards are met by each program. For a full listing of all standards met by all our available programs, please consult this All Standards Met.
