Mission
The Wake County Public Health (WCPH) Epidemiology Program works to understand the distribution and determinants of health-related events in Wake County and applies findings to prevent, detect and control these events. The program fulfills its mission through three core functions:

Research: investigating priority health topics over time to understand trends and emerging issues.

Data analysis: reviewing, cleaning, transforming and analyzing data to generate actionable insights and evaluate public health interventions.

Education and communication: translating findings into clear, accessible information for decision-makers, partners and the public.
