Child Care Health Consultants (CCHCs) are trained health professionals who work with licensed childcare centers and homes. They partner with early educators to improve, promote and maintain quality services that ensure children’s safe and healthy growth and development. They do this by:
- Assessing the childcare environment for health and safety
- Developing strategies for including children with special health care and medication needs
- Providing support to prevent and manage injuries and infectious disease
- Connecting early educators and families to community health resources
- Providing up-to-date information on regulations and best practices
- Providing health and safety training and technical assistance
