Raise your voice to guide our public health work!
Calling all rising 9th–12th graders! 📣 Wake County is inviting teens to be part of the 2025–2026 Youth Health Council, a volunteer leadership group where young people help shape conversations and actions around public health. From mental health and nutrition to COVID-19 and emerging community issues, Council members bring their lived experiences and ideas to the table to help inform real change.
The Youth Health Council meets bi-monthly throughout the year to work on community projects, with additional optional opportunities for career exploration and leadership development. These may include field trips, meetings with elected officials, and hands-on volunteer experiences. Want to see what youth have accomplished before? Check out some of the Council’s past projects below!
Registration for the next Youth Health Council term (2026–2027) will open in July 2026.
