Service Updates

South Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility in Apex is unable to accept cardboard because of equipment failure. Commercial customers who want to recycle cardboard should use North Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility in Raleigh until further notice.

North Wake HHW is temporarily closed due to fire damage at the site. In the interim, there will be a HHW collection event every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Wake Facility. For other HHW disposal options, please use South Wake HHW or East Wake HHW.

As of July 1, the disposal fee for mattresses and box springs will be $15 at the South Wake Landfill, located at 6300 Old Smithfield Road, Apex, N.C. Residents may bring a total of two (2) mattresses or box springs per day for no charge at Convenience Centers 1, 2, 4, 7, and 11.
