Join us for our Big Sweep event at Walnut Creek Wetland Park, one of our oldest cleanup zones! For over 30 years, Partners for Environmental Justice have hosted Big Sweeps here, and now you can be part of this lasting legacy.
Volunteers will sign in at the main entrance of Walnut Creek Wetland Park, located at 950 Peterson Street in Raleigh. Extra parking is available on Peterson and State Streets. Please dress appropriately for the weather in clothing that can get wet, torn, or messy, and wear closed-toed shoes. Volunteers will be divided into teams to tackle various areas, including sidewalks, ravines, creeks, and the greenway. Water bottles are recommended, but all supplies will be provided.
Registration is required.
Adults must register and accompany children under the age of 12. All volunteers must sign two release forms—one for Big Sweep and one for the City of Raleigh. If anyone is under 18, a parent or guardian must sign their form. If you're part of a group, the group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register, and provide a list of names and emails for all volunteers.
