About This Event

Hanna Gelwix: A Series of Odds and Ends is a solo exhibition featuring photographic prints that were created using the techniques of double exposure and long exposure. The works included in this exhibition use objects from nature and their surrounding environments to show the versatility and intricate beauty of each specimen, with the goal of creating a dreamlike sense of peace when viewed. All pieces were created by combining everyday objects and natural elements, using double exposures and long exposures, creating abstract works that bring a sense of peace and contentment when viewed. The works aim to capture fleeting moments, emphasizing the subtle interplay between light, space, and emotion.

About the artist
Hanna Gelwix earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from UNC - Greensboro. She has been a practicing fine artist for the past 10 years, with a concentration on photography with a focus on surrealism. Her work explores the intersection of memory, material, and process, using photography to examine themes of presence and impermanence. She is drawn to tactile and experimental approaches, allowing the physicality of each medium to shape the narrative of her work.

Exhibition runs from March 1-March 31 at Eva Perry Regional Library.
