Hot Car Safety Event
About This Event
Protect your kids and pets!
Join us for a hot car demonstration and witness how fast temperatures rise inside a parked car—even with the windows cracked. Learn why even “just a few minutes” can be deadly for children and pets.
What to expect:
- Car seat safety checks: Make sure your child's car seat is installed correctly by certified technicians.
- Pet safety tips: Talk with Wake County Animal Services about keeping pets safe in the heat.
- Family Resources: Grab free summer safety materials and connect with local health and safety partners.
- Meet local government staff and first responders: Chat with representatives from Wake County Public Health, Wake County Animal Services, Wake Forest Police and Wake Forest Fire.
This summer let’s keep every backseat safe.
Free and open to the public — all ages welcome!
**In case of inclement weather, this event will be moved to Tuesday, July 22
