Introduction to Genealogy Workshop with the Library of North Carolina

Interested in exploring your family history?

Join library staff from the Government &

Heritage Library for an introduction to library

collections and resources for genealogy and

family history research. This beginner-friendly,

three-hour workshop will provide you with

genealogy research tips and best practices,

along with hands-on activities designed to help

you confidently begin researching your family

history.

This workshop will cover basic research

principles and methods, how to locate and use

documentary records, and how to add context

to your family history with further research and

historical resources. Please bring a laptop or

tablet to complete the workshop activities and

get started with your research!

This program is designed to be accessible

to beginners while still providing support for

experienced genealogists. All young adult

and adult learners are welcome to participate.

Registration is limited to 25 participants.
