Ask the Doc Town Hall to celebrate Women's Health Month in May

Wake County is partnering with community health leaders to host a special Ask the Doc Town Hall in recognition of Women's Health Month. The event will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at the Tarboro Road Community Center in Raleigh.

This free town hall will bring together leading physicians to discuss key topics in women’s health and answer questions directly from attendees. All participants will enjoy a full complimentary dinner, free giveaway items and more.

"Women's Health Month is the perfect opportunity for women and families in our community to talk openly about health issues that matter most to them," said Wake County Vice Chair Safiyah Jackson. “We are combining professional expertise with a supportive community, providing residents with the tools and the network to own their health journeys.”

This quarter's event is in partnership with Wake County's Maternal and Child Health section. Registration is encouraged but not required.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Rasheeda Monroe, Pediatrician; Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, UNC School of Medicine; Director, Health Equity Scholars, WakeMed Health and Hospitals (Moderator)
  • Dr. Stefanie Etienne, MD, Family Physician and Medical Director, Utilization Management, Carolina Complete Health
  • Dr. Michele Benoit-Wilson, MD, FACOG, Founder & CEO, HerHealthMD, PLLC

Ask the Doc Town Halls

Ask the Doc began in 2021 amid COVID-19 as a way for the public to virtually connect with health professionals to understand the changing landscape of the pandemic. Hosted quarterly by the Population Health division of Wake County Public Health, each session features a panel of local medical professionals who share their expertise and engage with residents to address pressing health concerns.
