Early voting for the 2026 Primary Election ends Saturday

12 sites open through Saturday, Feb. 28

Voters stand in line outside an early voting location, waiting to enter a brick building with a covered porch on a clear day. Orange cones mark the walkway near the entrance.

Wake County voters have two more days to cast a ballot during the early voting period for the 2026 Primary Election. All 12 early voting sites across the county will be open today and Friday, from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. All eligible voters in line by 3 p.m. will be allowed to cast a ballot. An interactive map of early voting locations, a live wait time tracker and information about same-day registration are available at WakeVotesEarly.com.

“The last days of early voting are typically the busiest, so we encourage voters to plan ahead and check our online wait time tracker to see where lines are shortest,” said Wake County Board of Elections Director Olivia McCall. “It’s important to check your registration status. If you aren’t registered in Wake County, Saturday is the last day to register and vote using same-day registration.”

Eligible voters who missed the voter registration deadline may still register and vote in person at an early voting site through Saturday. Same-day registration is available at all early voting locations. Voters using same-day registration must bring acceptable proof of their current residence and complete a voter registration form at the site. Same-day registration is not available on Election Day. Voters can confirm their registration status using the N.C. State Board of Elections Voter Search tool.
