New partnership with Gale Presents: Udemy unlocks 24/7 access to courses
Wake County Public Libraries cardholders now have free 24/7 access to thousands of on-demand video courses designed to support career growth, personal development and lifelong learning.
This new partnership with Gale Presents: Udemy means cardholders will be able to explore more than 25,000 online, expert-led video courses spanning topics like business, technology, skilled trades, personal development and more. The collection also includes specialized content for English language learners and job seekers looking to gain or sharpen critical workplace skills.
“This offering removes barriers to high-quality education and is just another way our libraries support learning for all Wake County residents,” said Susan Evans, chair, Wake County Board of Commissioners. “This is a great resource that we hope all residents will take advantage of.”
Gale Presents: Udemy features:
- An expansive course catalog of more than 25,000 online video courses across 75+ categories
- Courses that are added and removed weekly, as new skills and demands emerge in each field
- Up-to-date content with 85% of courses refreshed within the last two years
- A learner-first approach where users can filter content by topic, duration, skill level, language and ratings
- Over 7,000 courses available in more than 12 languages, taught by native speakers
Major course categories include cloud computing, data science, design, development, finance/accounting, human resources, IT operations, leadership/management, marketing, office productivity, personal development, project management and sales.
This initiative supports the Wake County Board of Commissioners’ strategic focus on Lifelong Learning and aligns with Wake County Public Libraries’ mission to foster learning for all by removing barriers to educational opportunities.
