Wake County libraries unwrap a month of holiday fun

Wake County Public Libraries invites residents of all ages to celebrate the season with a fun lineup of holiday programs, music and more throughout December. From festive crafts and family-friendly movies to live music and parties for kids who can’t quite make it to midnight, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

“Our public libraries are hubs of creativity and community,” said Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings. “These holiday programs are a wonderful way for families to make memories, discover new books and celebrate the season together.”

Highlights include:

  • Enjoy holiday music performances from Sproutsongs Music, the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute and Click Symphony.
  • Get crafty at a workshop making ornaments or decorating tote bags.
  • Catch a movie at screenings across the county.
  • Start the countdown to 2026 at 11:59 a.m. at a Noon Year Eve Party!

Plus, don’t miss the library’s annual gift to readers: the 2025 edition of “A Few of Our Favorite Things,” a booklet of staff-recommended reads for adults. New this year is “Best Books: Our Favorite Books for Kids and Teens.” It’s a perfect companion for cozy winter reading.

All programs are free, but registration is required for some. To learn more and sign up, visit wake.gov/Libraries.
