While the current school year is winding down, Wake County Public Health is already working to make it easy for families to check a critical task off their list for next year—getting their child's required vaccinations. The County is hosting monthly vaccine clinics to help students get the immunizations they need as they head back to class in the fall.

North Carolina law requires specific vaccines for children entering kindergarten, 7th grade and 12th grade. These clinics will provide families with a convenient, one-stop opportunity to ensure their children are up to date.

"Making sure students are up to date on their vaccines is one of the simplest ways we can support a healthy start to the school year," said Wake County Commissioner Susan Evans. "These monthly clinics give families convenient, accessible opportunities to check one more thing off their back-to-school list.”

At each clinic, public health nurses will be available to administer vaccines, answer parent questions and make sure each child meets school requirements for immunizations.

Clinic Schedule

All clinics will offer vaccinations for students entering kindergarten, 7th and 12th grade. The last patient will be seen 15 minutes before closing time.

Families are encouraged to bring their child’s vaccination records and insurance card if available. Parents or legal guardians must be present with a photo ID.

More information, including vaccine requirements for each grade level, is available at wake.gov/vaccine.
