Wake County Public Libraries invites the community to celebrate local voices and the power of storytelling with the 2026 Read Local series. This annual program highlights authors from across the region and offers readers of all ages the chance to discover new books and connect with the writers who call North Carolina home.
“A thriving community is one where people feel connected to one another, and Read Local helps make that possible,” said Wake County Commissioner Vickie Adamson. “By elevating the voices and stories of North Carolina authors, we’re celebrating creativity and inspiring readers of all ages.”
This year’s series features author talks, writing workshops and book discussions at local libraries throughout April.
