Wake County will remain closed all day on Monday, Feb. 2

As road conditions remain hazardous in spots across the area, Wake County will close all non-essential operations for Monday, Feb. 2.

Essential services like EMS, emergency management and fire services will remain in operation, though responses may be delayed due to dangerous driving conditions.

Monday's Board of Commissioners meeting will be virtual and livestreamed. Public comments will be accepted online Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be no option for residents to speak virtually to the Board.

As snow melts and refreezes, hazards like black ice may persist in some areas. Drive slowly and leave extra following distance between yourself and the car in front of you.
