Whether you’re an active traveler or an armchair adventurer, Wake County Public Libraries’ five-part Travel Smart series has inspiration and ideas for your next trip or tour (even if it’s only through the pages of a book!). The series kicks off with a virtual evening with travel authority and popular television host Rick Steves.

“Traveling connects us with new people and places, and it can help us better understand ourselves and others,” said Shinica Thomas, chair, Wake County Board of Commissioners. “This free series provides great opportunities for everyone from seasoned travelers to people who’ve just caught the travel bug.”

Adult Services librarians with Wake County Public Libraries created the Travel Smart series to help participants plan, pack, photograph and fly with ease. Registration is required, but there’s no cost for any of the events and all call be enjoyed from the comfort of your home or wherever you have a device.
