The Wake County Sheriff’s Office spread joy one cart at a time to dozens of families in December with three Shop with the Sheriff events.
For years, WCSO has continued the Shop with the Sheriff tradition to support and build relationships with the community to reinforce that they matter. This special shopping experience helps bring a smile to a child’s face and a gift under their tree during the holiday season.
“This opportunity to meet with the children, allow them to shop, buy some Christmas toys and gifts and go home and celebrate this time of year, that’s what it’s all about,” said Sheriff Willie Rowe.
Nearly 70 children received between $100 and $200 each and were paired with a WCSO deputy, detention officer, or admin employee to shop for toys, clothes, and any item on their list.
“It’s a blessing to be able to participate in this type of event,” said Rowe. “God blessed us to be a blessing and now we have an opportunity to fulfill the great commandment of caring for one another.”
Shop with the Sheriff is made possible thanks to the partnership and generosity of Learning Express Toys and Gifts, Walmart, Target, and the Wake Sheriff's Charitable Foundation.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to making this holiday season brighter, especially for families who need a little extra joy this time of year.
