What happens to your recycling when it leaves the curb? What is a recycling sorting facility? What can be recycled? There are many steps in the recycling process! Visit Sonoco Recycling get your recycling questions answered. Wake County offers two different options for groups:
- In-classroom presentations –These are best for groups that include anyone under the age of 18 or for individuals who prefer to be seated during the class. There is a window where visitors can view the sorting floor. Recorded videos and live video feed of the sorting floor will be shown. We will talk about the sorting process, what can be recycled, and answer all your questions.
- Walking floor tours –The tours involve walking alongside the machines on the sorting floor. These tours are very loud and include steps. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn at all times while on the sorting floor. All attendees must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
