The Soul City Fresh Markets has transitioned to an online ordering system, allowing childcare centers and parents to place Fresh Produce Box orders. This program partners with Wake County SMART START, Black Farmers Hub, N.C. Cooperative Extension, and several childcare centers to bring fresh, locally-sourced produce into early childhood education centers, providing enrolled children with healthy meals.
This online ordering system is currently available to participating childcare centers. However, an updated model that will allow families to select Fresh Produce Boxes for pick-up will be available soon. Please check back later this month for more updates.
Fresh Produce Boxes for Families
Soul City Fresh Market is excited to announce that we are transitioning to a new model based on feedback we received from participants. We will now be offering fresh produce boxes delivered right to your childcare provider!
Coming Soon
Families can sign up to receive a biweekly produce box of $25 value for just $10 per box! When you come collect your prepaid, ready to go produce box during the designated pick-up time, you won't need to wait in line or have your payment processed. Boxes can be picked up every other Monday after 3pm.
Each box will include:
- Greens such as collards, kale, or cabbage
- Roots such as carrots, potatoes, or sweet potatoes
- Fruit such as apples, pears, or strawberries
- Farm fresh eggs by the dozen
Plus:
- An additional seasonal item
- A card with simple recipes to help you use your produce
- Tips for properly storing your produce to maintain freshness
