Wake County Tax Administration is pleased to offer an online Residential Sales Search tool. This tool provides information like the County’s Real Estate Property Search but includes enhancements that allow users to map multiple residential sales and filter residential property sales by:

  • Distance
  • Sales Date
  • Status of Sale Review by Appraisal Staff
  • Planning Jurisdiction
  • Neighborhood
  • Heated Area Square Footage
  • Year Built
  • Effective Year Built
  • Story Height
  • Building Type and Use
  • Acreage
     

The Residential Sales Search tool also allows users to create reports that include residential sales with select property characteristics that users deem comparable to a subject property.

Property Record Information

Residential sales shown in this search are an extract from the County’s Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system, which includes many different codes and abbreviations to capture and describe property information. The Residential Sales Search tool uses many of these codes and abbreviations.

Story Height Factors and Upper Floor (Attic) Finish

The Story Height Factors and Upper Floor (Attic) Finish information provides the categories used to describe how heated area is listed on each story of a home, along with their abbreviations found on property sketches shown in the Residential Sales Search tool. This document also provides an example of how to calculate heated area using the Story Height and Upper Floor (Attic) Finish codes.
