The Water Quality Division safeguards Wake County’s natural resources by administering Articles 9, 10, 11 and 14 of the Unified Development Ordinance. Through permitting, inspections, education and community partnerships, we work to protect soil and water quality and promote sustainable development. The Division accomplishes its tasks through two robust and customer-centric programs – Watershed Management and Water Resources.
