Our Solid Waste Team provides waste disposal and recycling drop-off services to residents and businesses in Wake County, along with award-winning education programs. Last year, the South Wake Landfill accepted 530,741 tons of garbage, and our Waste & Recycling facilities recycled 40,751 tons of materials!
Service Updates
Convenience Center Site 10 at 5216 Knightdale-Eagle Rock Road in Knightdale is unable to accept bulky waste because of equipment failure. Residents who need to dispose of furniture, mattresses, or other bulky items should take them to Convenience Center Site 11, 5051 Wendell Blvd./Hwy. 64 in Wendell, until further notice.

Facilities Hours of Operations
All facilities are closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (at noon) and Christmas Day.
