Our Solid Waste Team provides waste disposal and recycling drop-off services to residents and businesses in Wake County, along with award-winning education programs. Last year, the South Wake Landfill accepted 530,741 tons of garbage, and our Waste & Recycling facilities recycled 40,751 tons of materials!
Service Updates: Winter Weather Changes
Friday, January 10: All Convenience Centers will close at 5 pm
Saturday, January 11
- Convenience Centers will operate from noon to 5 pm
- Household Hazardous Waste Facilities will operate from noon to 4 pm
- Multi-Material Recycling Facilities will operate from noon to 4 pm
Sunday, January 12
- Convenience Centers will operate from noon to 5 pm
- East Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility will operate from noon to 4 pm
- East Wake Household Hazardous Waste Facility will operate from noon to 4 pm

Facilities Hours of Operations
All facilities are closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (at noon) and Christmas Day.
