The County Manager leads all County departments and agencies that function under the policies of the Board of Commissioners. The County Manager also maintains effective relationships with separately elected and appointed officials and agencies. The County Manager’s staff carries out the Board’s policies, goals and objectives and provides the Board with annual financial and capital budgets to support all county operations.

Non-Discrimination Ordinance Complaint Process
The Wake County Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance in 2021 prohibiting discrimination in public accommodations and employment. It went into effect on Feb. 1, 2022, and applies only to the unincorporated areas of the county outside of city or town limits, unless a Wake County municipality independently adopts it.
