Wellhead Requirements

Proper completion of the wellhead helps protect water quality and aids in well maintenance and repair and proper function of the well.

A properly completed wellhead will include at a minimum:

  • Grout to land surface

  • Top of casing at least 12” above land surface

  • Half-inch access port and vent

  • Watertight pipe and electrical entry

  • Watertight well seal or cap

  • Downturned threadless sampling tap

  • Permanently attached Well Contractor ID Plate

  • Permanently attached Pump Installer ID Plate
