Threat of Possible Severe Weather Pauses Wake County Public Health Testing and Vaccinations

Testing canceled for Thursday/Thursday vaccine appointments moved to Friday

Wake County has the potential to experience possible severe weather on Thursday, March 18, including likely morning thunderstorms and possible tornadoes during the day. Because the safety of the public and our staff is paramount, we are making the following changes:

  • All free COVID-19 testing has been canceled for Thursday, but normal testing hours will resume on Friday, March 19. Go to WakeGov.com/testing

  • ALL 1st and 2nd dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments for Thursday, March 18 have been MOVED to Friday, March 19 – same time, same place, just one day later. Anyone who already had Friday appointments can keep them. We're increasing capacity to accommodate ALL Thursday and Friday appointments on Friday, March 19. If someone can NOT make their Friday slot, appointment holders should receive an email confirmation for the Friday appointment which will include a link to reschedule to a day and time that’s more convenient.

We urge residents to stay tuned to their local weather stations, to monitor the  National Weather Service and make sure they’re signed up for ReadyWake.com – check your emergency kit and make an emergency plan with your family today.
