In 2026, the Board of Commissioners will complete its transition to district-based elections. The representatives of districts 4, 5 and 6 were elected exclusively by their districts’ voters in 2024. This year, voters in Districts 1, 2, 3 and 7 will vote on their respective commissioners. All Wake County voters will also have the opportunity to elect two additional at-large commissioners who will represent the whole county.
