- Research and compile volunteer recruitment and retention best practices.
- Assist in the development of county-wide policies to improve the recruitment and retention of volunteers within Wake County fire departments.
- Provide recommendations on volunteer recruitment and retention policies to the Fire Commission.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of fire service training programs on behalf of the Fire Commission.
- Promote the overall physical and mental health and well-being of fire service responders both in the workplace and at home.
