What is the Middle Creek Area Plan?
The Middle Creek Area Plan was approved by the Wake County Board of Commissioners on June 20, 2023.

The following projects are ongoing in the study area.
- Complete 540
In addition to connecting several towns and cities, this project is expected to ease congestion on area roadways.
- Beech Bluff County Park
Construction is currently underway on Beech Bluff County Park!
- Southeast Area Study (SEAS) This project will make recommendations on regional improvements for future land use and development and multiple modes of transportation including roadways, bicycle, and pedestrian needs, transit, and even freight and rail considerations.
- U.S. 401 Corridor Study
This study is investigating needed improvements to the U.S. 401 corridor to accommodate current and future travel and growth.
