About This Event

Grab your family and friends to help us close out Child Abuse Prevention Month with a one mile walk around one of Wake County’s many parks and preserves. We'll also be celebrating the Year of the Trail and sharing the Five Protective Factors with our communities in order to create a culture of awareness and support.

Parks participating:

 

NC Year of the Trail is the largest statewide celebration of trails and outdoor recreation in North Carolina history. Join Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space as we celebrate the Year of the Trail all year long with special programs, features, contests and more!

Park Meetup Information:

  • Crowder County Park: Meet at the volleyball court
  • Oak View:  Meet outside the Farm History Center and walk Hunnicut Trail.
  • Sandy Pines: Meet at the picnic area adjacent to the parking area. Walk the Longleaf Pine Pond loop (trail 2 with pink markers).
  • Lake Crabtree: Meet at the gravel lot near the spillway and walk Old Beech Nature Trail.
  • American Tobacco Trail – White Oak Entrance: Meet at the comfort station.
  • Green Hills: Meet at the playground and walk the pedestrian loop and Top of the Hill Trail.
