The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strives to create and partner with sustainable initiatives that address the ever-changing needs of the communities that we serve. GARE The Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) is a national network of government entities working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all. Language & Communication Access Our goal is to assist our team with the implementation of a plan to support access in a myriad of ways. Dismantling Systemic Racism Blueprint Initiated by the Raleigh Chamber, this ongoing initiative asks community members and organizations to support of our collective commitment to dismantle systemic racism. Wake Invests in Women An interdependent collaboration between Wake County, Wake Tech, and community and business partners is an investment to create large scale change. Non-Discrimination Ordinance The Wake County Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance in 2021 prohibiting discrimination in public accommodations and employment. Disparity Study Wake County is focused on strengthening business opportunities for people of color and women. To accomplish this goal, the County partnered with Griffin & Strong.
