Camps are more extended programs offered by park staff during the summer months. Blue Jay Point’s camps are offered in a “mini-camp” format and held according to age groups.
General Camp Information
Camp registration is online. Spaces are limited and tend to fill quickly, so register early!
All camps are 3 days camps- held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday
A registration packet, including a health history form, will be emailed before the start of camp.
A parent letter containing important information and a basic schedule of activities will be emailed the week before the start of camp.
Eco Kids Mini-Camps
A 3-day mini-camp for youngsters ages 4–5, in which they learn about a variety of topics through crafts, hikes, stories and other activities. These will be offered several times throughout the year.
Eco Kids: Bird Buddies
February 6, 8, 10, 1–3 p.m.
Be the best bird buddy ever! Learn what makes a bird a bird, how to identify bird songs, and how different birds “earn a living,” all while finding out what you can do to help your feathered friends.

Eco Kids: How Does Your Garden Grow?
June 12, 14, 16 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Learn about seeds, soil and the animals who live in it! Explore what is needed to make a garden grow and help us get hands-on by planting in our garden for a summer of work.

My Side of the Point
July 10, 12, 14 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Ever read My Side of the Mountain and thought you’d like to be able to identify plants, track animals, know bird song, or feel at home in the forest? Join other young naturalists for a week exploring forest and field and practicing some primitive skills

Terrific Trees
July 17, 19, 21 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Join other junior foresters as we delve into the world of trees from roots to canopy, make recycled crafts, print leafy bandanas, and explore the surrounding forest
Ages 6-8 yr. old; $48 per child (traditional, track 4, homeschool)
Eco Kids: Aquatic Adventures
August 7, 9, 11 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Frogs and newts and water bugs – oh my! Meet many kinds of aquatic critters as we explore Blue Jay Point’s pond and shores of Falls Lake. We’ll also spend time learning about all things aquatic through crafts, stories, snacks and more!
