Acceptable Items

Batteries

Non-rechargeable; alkaline, household batteries such as AA, AAA, 9-volt, button cell. Lead Acid (limit 6); vehicle, boat, motorcycle. Rechargeable; lithium-ion, cell phones, devices, power tools, toys, 12-volt. TAPE TERMINALS of lithium batteries.

Chemicals

Acids, ammonia, bases, bleach, chlorine, corrosive cleaners, degreasers, fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, engine cleaners and degreasers, photographic chemicals, pool and spa chemicals, poisons, solvents, weed killers.

Fire Extinguishers

Dry chemical.

Flammables

Gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, lighter fluid, mineral spirits, paint thinners and diesel fuel. (Fuel must be in container that can be poured, no larger than 5 gallons)

Fluorescent Light Bulbs

CFLs; bring bulbs in box. Fluorescent tubes; 12 limit, bring in box.

Mercury Thermometers

Mercury thermometers, Mercury switches from thermostats.

Paints

Oil-based paints, lacquers, varnishes, polishers, finishes, spray paints, stains, solvents.

Latex paint (10 gallon limit, consolidate cans if more than 10 gallons. Rusted or dried out paint cans should be disposed of in regular trash.  Residents are encourage to dry paint with kitty litter and dispose of dried paint in regular trash)

Propane Tanks up to 20 LB Only

Propane tanks may also be returned to point of purchase, tank exchange drop off locations
