Acceptable Items
Cardboard
Clean, dry, flattened, all packing materials removed.
Clothing
Clean, dry and reusable clothing and shoes only. No linens. Bag all items.
Construction Debris
Wood, drywall, shingles, carpet, tiles. No concrete or pavers. Homeowners only. Contractors and tenants refer to Resources page for list of private Construction and Demolition Landfills.
Electronics
Saturdays and Sundays only. Any corded electronic device; computers, game consoles, printers, copiers, audio/video players, televisions. (No large appliances, white goods, or refrigerant containing appliances - take to Multi-Material Recycling Facility.)
Garbage
Household trash and furniture. Items under 8 feet long or wide.
Mattresses & Box Springs
Wake County residents only. Two (2) mattresses per day. Additional mattresses and box springs may be brought to the shredder at the South Wake Landfill for a processing fee.
Mixed Recycling
Metal: food and drink cans. Glass: bottles and jars. Mixed paper: paperboard, food and beverage cartons, junk mail, newspapers, phone books and magazines (no shredded paper). Plastic: bottles, jugs, jars and tubs (caps on, no foam). Keep loose, DO NOT BAG.
Oyster Shells
From homes and restaurants.
Scrap Metal
Bicycles, grills, sinks, ladders, pipes, rims, string lights, push mowers (remove fluids).
