Wake County Solid Waste Management Division manages 11 convenience centers for Wake County residents to drop-off their recycling and trash.

Convenience Center

Hours of Operation

  • Daily from 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Closed for holidays on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (at noon) and Christmas Day

Trash Pass Requirements

In an effort to limit misuse, Wake County is requiring residents who bring their trash in a box truck, dual-axle or enclosed trailer to request a free Trash Pass prior to arrival.

Learn More...

The Trash Pass allows Wake County residents temporary use of the Convenience Center when using a box truck, dual-axle or enclosed trailer to dispose of their trash. Wake County residents who bring their waste in a personal vehicle, such as a car, SUV, truck, or single-axle trailer do not need a trash pass.
