Wake County Drug Overdose Prevention Coalition

In November 2015, groups and organizations in Wake County working to prevent and respond to heroin and opioid overdoses formed the Wake County Drug Overdose Prevention Coalition. This collaboration helps combine resources to be more effective in preventing drug overdoses. The Coalition meets quarterly for educational information, to exchange progress updates on the Coalition work plan and networking. Subsequently, the Wake County Drug Overdose Prevention Coalition was established.

Coalition work focuses on education and outreach, data analytics, access to naloxone and syringe exchange, recovery initiation and maintenance, and first responders.

Faces of Recovery

The stigma surrounding addition and substance use prevents people from seeking out and receiving support. If we can end stigma, our communities become safer and more healthy. We can support those living in recovery, families of those in recovery and our entire community.
